"How to Plan the Perfect New England Wedding **Special Edition**: Featuring an Exclusive Interview with Chef Charisa and Paul Legault from Gourmet in a Pinch"

Chef Charisa graduated with a culinary associates degree from Newbury College in Brookline, Mass in 1986. She was the first female chef at the distinguished Giacomo's in the North End of Boston. She is traditionally French trained with a strong background and experience with Italian Tuscan cuisine. Her culinary passion transforms classic dishes into healthy alternatives while maintaining strong ties to efficient food service production. She has performed a variety of food service roles and responsibility throughout the California and New York area. Even as a child, Chef Charisa was interested in food, cooking and entertaining. She and her two sisters enjoyed helping their Mom to cook and entertain and to this day they all still inspire each other.

Chef Charisa and husband Paul met and married in the Sunday River area and built a vacation home together in 2002. Chef Charisa noticed during that time that spending the day snowboarding or skiiing and then working on the house left very little time for cooking. They were going out for dinner but found that they really wanted to be home and wished that there was a store that sold prepared food to go. That initial undesirable was the seed for the retail store that they opened together in 2009 called Gourmet in a Pinch – Western Maine's Full Service Catering Solution with Party Rentals and Event Planning Specialists.

Catering wedding celebrations and specialty events are very exciting and rewarding for us. Paul is the initial Catering and Event Planning Manager and listens closely to understand the bride and groom's vision of success. Paul and Chef Charisa work closely together to develop the catering menu, integrated time line, configuration layout, and risk mitigation strategy to ensure a successful execution. They really enjoy what they do and are very happy to be a part of the bride and grooms special wedding celebration.
